Intermittent Fasting FAQs and Troubleshooting Guide

Quick Answer: Intermittent Fasting is a Lose It! Premium feature that can be managed in your profile settings, where you can turn on the feature, set schedule preferences, and adjust notifications. If Intermittent Fasting is missing from your profile, you can unhide it under your Application Preferences.

How to Show or Unhide Intermittent Fasting on Your Profile

Intermittent Fasting requires an active Lose It! Premium membership. If you have Premium but cannot see Intermittent Fasting under the Program section of your profile, the feature may simply be hidden.

  1. Open the Lose It! app.
  2. Tap Profile (top right corner).
  3. Scroll down and tap Settings.
  4. Tap Application Preferences.
  5. Toggle off Hide Intermittent Fasting on Profile.

If you don't see this option, double-check that your Premium subscription is active on your account. We're here to help get this sorted if you need assistance verifying your membership!

How to Turn Off Fasting Reminders

If you prefer not to receive push notifications when it's time to start or end a fast, you can manage these alerts directly from your profile settings.

  1. Open the Lose It! app.
  2. Tap Profile (top right corner).
  3. Scroll down to the Personalize Lose It! section.
  4. Tap Reminders.
  5. Toggle off Start Fast or End Fast.

Customizing Your Fasting Schedule

When setting up your fasting schedule, keep these guidelines in mind:

  • Schedules Across Different Days: You can choose specific days of the week to fast, but all active fasting days must use the same start and end hours. Setting different fasting hours for different days of the week is not currently supported.
  • Maximum Fast Length: Fasting schedules are limited to a maximum length of 22 hours per fast.

Looking to set up fasts longer than 22 hours or create flexible daily schedules? We are always working to improve Lose It! based on member feedback! Feel free to submit a feature suggestion to our team.

How Fasting Works with Timers, Calorie Budgets, and Log History

  • Starting and Stopping Fasts: Timers do not start or stop automatically. You must open the Lose It! app to manually start or end your fasting timer.
  • Calorie Budgets: Fasting does not adjust or alter your daily calorie budget. Your calorie target stays the same whether or not you are fasting on a given day.
  • Reviewing Fasting History: To view a previously logged fast, navigate directly to that specific date on your Log. At this time, Lose It! does not feature a centralized fasting history dashboard.
