Intermittent Blank Pop-up Screens

Quick Answer: If a blank sheet or overlay freezes Lose It! on your iOS device shortly after opening, temporarily disconnect any linked smart scales or health integrations (such as Withings) in your settings and force-restart the app.

Resolving Blank Screen and Pop-Up Overlays

A blank sheet or overlay that pops up shortly after opening Lose It! on iOS usually indicates an active sync conflict between the app and a smart scale (such as Withings or Fitbit Aria). Disconnecting the direct integration stops the overlay from appearing, so you can continue logging while our engineering team works on a permanent fix.

Disconnecting Integrations on iOS

Follow these steps to temporarily unlink your connected scale or health service:

  1. Open Lose It! and tap your Profile icon in the top right corner.
  2. Scroll down to the Automatic Tracking section.
  3. Tap the connected service causing the conflict (such as Withings or Fitbit Aria).
  4. Tap Disconnect.

Don't worry! Disconnecting your scale or device is only temporary to keep your app running smoothly while we investigate. Your past weight and activity data remain safely saved in your account and on my.loseit.com.

Syncing Scale Data via Apple Health (Workaround)

You can still automatically sync weight measurements from your scale without triggering the blank overlay by using Apple Health as a bridge:

  1. Ensure your smart scale's companion app (e.g., Withings or Fitbit) is set up to sync weight data directly to Apple Health.
  2. Open Lose It! and tap your Profile icon in the top right corner.
  3. Scroll down to Automatic Tracking and select Apple Health.
  4. Confirm that Weight permissions are enabled so Lose It! can read entries from Apple Health.

As long as your scale sends entries to Apple Health and Lose It! is set to read weight from Apple Health, your weight entries will continue to update in Lose It!
